SAMCAR Committees

Become a leader in your Association!
New SAMCAR Committees will be forming for 2010.  Members are urged to take a part in the planning of association activities, local legislative issues, technology programs, member services and Professional Standards.

In order to serve on SAMCAR’s Board of Directors, a member is  required to have served on a SAMCAR committee for at least 1 year.


Affiliate Council
County wide committee to promote and enhance the visibility of affiliates as supportive partners in the real estate community through involvement in association activities and to increase affiliate membership of real estate affiliated businesses in San Mateo County.

BORPAC
Evaluate and interview candidates for elected office. Allocate PAC funds to local candidates and make recommendations to C.A.R. for state and federal candidates from this area. Each service area will be represented on the committee.

Cultural Diversity Committee
Commit to advance housing and homeownership through education,business development and outreach programs emphasizing cultural understanding and increased sensitivity. Increase understanding and awareness of cultural diversity within SAMCAR membership and provide a forum for communication accross diverse cultures.

Education Committee
Recommends courses and presentations that are pertinent to the industry and current trends for our membership’s knowledge and growth in
professionalism and financial success.

Finance Committee
Monitors the financial health and investment direction of the Association.

Grievance Committee
Conducts a preliminary review of disciplinary complaints to determine whether the complaint should be forwarded to a Hearing Panel of the Professional Standards Committee (training required to serve on this committee).

Legislative Committees
Local area Legislative Committees will continue in each service area. They will review issues and share information; provide feedback to the Government Affairs Director on current legislative issues; provide an audience for council members and staff; hold forums for local elections. Committee members will meet monthly at the local level and as necessary at the regional level.

Member Services Committee
Plans New Member Orientations for new members. Suggest and plans strategies for attracting new members.

Professional Standards
Acts as panelists for disciplinary and arbitration hearings (training is required to serve on this committee).

Public Relations / Local Marketing Meetings Committee
Local Service Area committees will be responsible for the program format and making arrangements for speakers as necessary. Members are also encouraged to assist staff in locating speakers for combined SAMCAR meetings.

Special Events Committee
Plans and promotes various association social and Foundation fund raising events including holiday celebrations, installation, golf tournament, etc. as requested and approved by the Board of Directors.
