SAMCAR Annual Membership BBQ, a Fun Event for Realtors and Affiliates

Over 300 Realtors, affiliates, and their families attended SAMCAR’s Annual Membership BBQ this year, held Thursday, August 2, at the San Mateo Central Park. The event gave SAMCAR the opportunity to show its appreciation to members.

Members and staff were able to enjoy the last days of summer with very pleasant weather, delicious food cooked by SAMCAR’s own Board of Directors and music provided by Top Banana.

Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, ribs, giant hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads, assorted chips, cookies and brownies, along with beverages like beer, water, soda and juice were part of the menu.

Thank you to the following SAMCAR directors who spent their afternoon cooking: Bob Mitton, Nini de la Fuente, Jennifer Tasto, Edgar Tulcanaza, Bobbi Decker, Sue Vaterlaus and Olivia Edwards. SAMCAR President Geoff Craighead, President-Elect Sue Walsh and Director Marianne Zanone Rush welcomed individuals and families to the event.

The afternoon included a softball game, coordinated by Adam O'Donnell and Edgar Tulcanaza of Guarantee Mortgage, with over 40 members playing.

Another highlight of the event was a raffle, which included prizes like wine donated by DeNize and Houston Lawrence with All California Mortgage, 2008 local SAMCAR dues, 2008 SAMCAR affiliate dues, sign riders, Iboxes, A-Frames and classroom rentals.

A very special thank you to the Set-Up and Take-Down Crew: Lynn Chakel (Countrywide Home Loans), DeNize Lawrence (All California Mortgage), Nicole Romero (LandAmerica Commonwealth), Adam O'Donnell (Guarantee Mortgage), Director Edgar Tulcanaza (Guarantee Mortgage), Aleksandr Ashkinaziy (Milvest Properties), Linda Simi (McGuire Real Estate, Peter Aiello (Cashin Company),  SAMCAR Event Coordinator Beckie Patane and SAMCAR Distribution/Inventory Specialist Peter Cho.
