Over 300 Attend SAMCAR’s Membership BBQ

Approximately 325 people - Realtors and Affiliates, with their families, kids and their friendly dogs, attended the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® Membership BBQ, held Thursday, August 3, at San Mateo’s Central Park. It was a good time for members and staff to enjoy the summer, with very pleasant weather.

The menu included hamburgers, cheeseburgers, giant hot dogs, veggie burgers, salads, assorted chips, cookies and brownies. There was also beer, water, soda and juice. A big thank you to the following SAMCAR directors who spent their afternoon cooking: Peter Aiello, Denise Aquila, Tim Auran, Geoff Craighead, Olivia Edwards, John Gieseker, Bob Mitton, Sue Vaterlaus, Sue Walsh and David Zigal.

The afternoon included an enjoyable game of softball played by several teams, with over 30 players participating. Thank you to Adam O’Donnell (American Home Mortgage), Steve Titsworth (Washington Mutual, San Mateo) and Edgar Tulcanaza (California Real Estate Loans) for organizing the softball tournament.

Thank you also to SAMCAR member Charlie Bulanti and his Sounds of Swing band, which included Bulanti, George Cerruti and Mandy Flowers, for providing the musical entertainment. They played classic favorites throughout the party.

Another highlight of the event was a raffle, which included prizes like bottles of wine, SAMCAR 2007 local dues, A-frames, sign riders, classroom rentals, a virtual tour and a massage. A big thanks to Todd Sears with Obeo, DeNize, and Houston Lawrence with All California Mortgage, Anson Chan and Maryann Bologna with The Examiner for their donations towards the raffle.

A very special thanks to members of the Special Events Committee for helping set up and take down items used at the park.
