Washington Mutual donates over $17,000 to Shelter Network through SAMCAR Charitable Foundation

Washington Mutual, through the San Mateo County REALTORS® Foundation, presented Shelter Network with a check for $17,100 during SAMCAR’s Feb. 6 Combined Marketing Meeting. Herbert said Washington Mutual matched every dollar of his donation. Washington Mutual a SAMCAR 2007 Platinum Sponsor.

Shelter Network provides housing and support services for homeless families and individuals in the San Francisco Peninsula, to help them re-establish self-sufficiency and return to permanent homes of their own.

Foundation Chair Denise Aquila and Shelter Network Development Manager Amy Wright thanked Herbert and Washington Mutual. Wright noted, the gesture illustrates “the difference between folks who talk and folks who do.” Aquila said the donation “shows we really are a caring community.”
