LEGISLATIVE DAY is the annual event in which REALTORS® from all over California travel to Sacramento and meet with their elected officials to discuss critical legislation that can affect REALTORS®, homeowners and private property rights.

Get on the bus!
This year SAMCAR has arranged 2 busses to take you to and from the State Capitol. Busses will leave SAMCAR parking lot at 6:30 a.m. The first bus will be back by 7 p.m. The second bus will return at 10 p.m. so that those members who have contributed the “True Cost of Doing Business” ($148) to the REALTOR® Action Fund can attend the Prestigious Capitol Reception.

And once you’re in Sacramento, you will receive a special briefing from California Association of REALTORS® including a talk by Governor Jerry Brown beginning at 9 a.m. sharp. Then we'll be attending a joint lunch with the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) and the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® (SCCAOR). And, in the afternoon, you will experience face-to-face meetings with our state legislators. We will be meeting with all of SAMCAR’s legislators including Assemblymen Kevin Mullin & Phil Ting. And, together with SCCAOR and SILVAR, we’ll meet with Senator Jerry Hill & Assemblyman Rich Gordon.

The cost for all of this is only $40!

Homeowner Champion Awards
This year, SAMCAR is proud to institute our first ever Homeowner Champion Awards. These awards will be given to those firms who show maximum percent of participation at Legislative Day. The awards will be segmented by Large Firms (51 to 100), Medium Firms (10 to 50) and Small Firms (1 to 9) and will be presented after Legislative Day. Additional consideration will be given to offices who recruit members who have never been to Legislative Day. So, put on your competitive hats and urge your colleagues to get on the bus to win the prestigious Homeowner Champion Award for your firm.
