Tedesco named SAMCAR’s Chief Executive Officer

San Mateo, CA - The San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Tedesco RCE, CAE, to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Tedesco has served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Santa Cruz Association of REALTORS® since February, 2002.

“Philip Tedesco is an outstanding and recognized chief executive officer with cutting edge skills and talents in the real estate industry and extended community. He
brings to SAMCAR the elements needed to propel us into the future with strength and vision,” said SAMCAR President-Elect Sue Walsh, who chaired the Search Committee. “The entire Board and staff are excited that he will be joining us, look forward to working with him and welcome him warmly.”

Tedesco has been involved in membership and services marketing for non-profit organizations for over 17 years. Prior to coming to California in 2002, Tedesco was the vice president of marketing at the REALTOR® Association of Greater Miami.

Tedesco has earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degree from Colorado State University in marketing and communications, and completed the Duke University Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
 
While in Santa Cruz, Tedesco was instrumental in creating the Santa Cruz Association of REALTORS® Housing Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 Public Benefit Corporation, that provides Closing Cost Assistance Grants to low-income home-buyers. Since 2004, the Housing Foundation has raised over $200,000 and assisted over 20 families in achieving the dream of homeownership in Santa Cruz County. Last year, the Housing Foundation, in conjunction with the Association, offered the first annual Santa Cruz County Housing Expo that attracted hundreds of members of the community for a full day of real estate-related information and education.

“I am very pleased with the decision of the Search Committee, and I am truly looking forward to working with the leadership and staff,” said Tedesco. “I am anxious to get started in my new role as SAMCAR’s Chief Executive Officer.”

Tedesco will begin as SAMCAR’s Chief Executive Officer on November 12, 2007.

The San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® (SAMCAR) is a professional trade organization representing over 3,800 REALTORS® and Affiliate members engaged in the real estate business on the Peninsula. SAMCAR promotes the highest ethical standards of real estate practice, serves as an advocate for homeownership and homeowners, and represents the interests of property owners in San Mateo County.
