On Saturday, September 11, Pacific Coast TV honored SAMCAR REALTORS Christine Stahl and Suzan Getchell-Wallace for their volunteerism and philanthropy in coastal communities alongside notable community figures as part of the stations 2021 Honors. Both have served as SAMCAR Committee chairs, notably on the SAMCAR Foundation Council, and Suzan Wallace is a past president and currently serves as treasurer on the SAMCAR Board of Directors. On Friday, March 5, 2021, SAMCAR held its first virtual Annual Meeting on Zoom, with master of ceremonies 2021 President David Zigal. At the meeting, SAMCAR honored Outgoing Directors and Committee Chairs, and recipients of C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life and NAR REALTOR Emeritus status, announced award winners for 2020 REALTOR® of the Year, 2020 Affiliate of the Year, and 2020 Community Service awards, as well as introduced the 2021 Board of Directors and Committee Chairs and acknowledged annual Corporate Sponsors for their ongoing support. 2020 SAMCAR President Elmer G. Martinez and the Board of Directors were officially sworn in to their term by special guest Installation Officer, Supervisor David J. Canepa, at SAMCAR's 2020 Installation dinner and ceremony on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Pullman Hotel in Redwood City. Also honored were SAMCAR's Past Presidents, Outgoing Directors and Committee Chairs, and award winners for 2019 REALTOR of the Year, 2019 Affiliate of the Year, and Homeowner Hero Awards.

On Thursday, July 18, SAMCAR's second quarterly membership meeting was held at Long Branch Farms in Half Moon Bay featuring real estate industry update presentations from 2020 NAR President, Vince Malta, and California DRE Auditor Cecilia Yan, along with welcoming remarks from Long Branch Farms owner, and SAMCAR Affiliate member, Kevin Palmer, an update from refreshments sponsor MLSListings, Inc., and closing remarks from candidate for 2021 C.A.R. At the recent California Association of REALTORS (C.A.R.) Spring 2019 meetings in Sacramento, SAMCAR was presented with an award for Outstanding Member Mobilization based on the number and percentage of SAMCAR members who responded to the National Association of REALTORS "Call for Action" in 2018 asking Congress to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).Thanks to all the SAMCAR members who took the time to respond to NAR's Call for Action urging Congress to extend the NFIP. When you take part in association efforts like that call for action, you are helping demonstrate the collective voice of organized real estate in service of protecting homeowners and your profession. Congratulations!

Director for Life is one of the most prestigious awards that C.A.R. can bestow on a member. To be considered, a member must have years of outstanding performance and dedicated service to the Association, including a minimum of ten years of active service to C.A.R. and at least five years as a C.A.R. Director. We are pleased to announce that Sue Walsh received this honor at the California Association of REALTORS (C.A.R.) Winter Business Meetings on February 1, 2019. Congratulations, Sue!
