On Monday, June 1, 2026, members of the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS (SAMCAR) attended the Kevin Mullin for Congress Birthday Fundraiser. Billed as "Be the Wave," this fundraising event was an opportunity for SAMCAR members to meet with Congressmember Kevin Mullin and learn more about his efforts to improve our local economy, get input from organizations like SAMCAR, and federal funding for infrastructure projects in San Mateo County.

(March 6) -- Homeownership emerged as a defining issue in California's 2026 gubernatorial race as six leading candidates gathered in Sacramento for the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS (C.A.R.) 2026 Homeownership Matters Gubernatorial Forum, focused on expanding pathways to ownership across the state. On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, SAMCAR members Sue Walsh (FPC Coordinator), Paul Beaudreau, Judy Taylor, Frank Vella, Jerome Madigan, and SAMCAR Government Affairs Director Fernando Peña met with Congressmember Kevin Mullin to discuss research/data, fair housing, inventory, supply, and affordable housing. The purpose of the meeting was to reinforce National Association of REALTORS (NAR) priorities, provide the Congressmember with a new resource team, and for members of SAMCAR to weigh in locally on important topics impacting the real estate industry at the local, state, and federal levels. On Thursday, October 21, SAMCAR Past Presidents Elmer G. Martinez (2020) and Jesse D. Gutierrez (2019) received California State Resolutions from California Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Kevin Mullin, Assemblymember Marc Berman and Senator Josh Becker. The resolutions were presented by Elmer Martinez Jr. at Green Hills Country Club at a special limited capacity ceremony. Also presented at the Speaker Series were C.A.R. Director Reports from the Fall 2021 Business Meetings from C.A.R. Directors Jesse Gutierez, Nestor Icaza, Elmer Martinez, and Michael Verdone, as well as an address from San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos Bolanos, with Master of Ceremonies and 2021 SAMCAR President David Zigal. 2019 SAMCAR President Jesse D. Gutierrez and the Board of Directors were officially sworn in to their term by special guest Installation Officer, Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis, Lieutenant Governor of California, at SAMCAR's 2019 Installation dinner and ceremony on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Pullman Hotel in Redwood City. Also honored were SAMCAR's Past Presidents, Outgoing Directors and Committee Chairs, and award winners for 2018 REALTOR of the Year, 2018 Affiliate of the Year, 2018 Community Service Award, Homeowner Hero Awards, Government Affairs Champion, and Lifetime Achievement Award.

From May 15 through 19, your SAMCAR Leadership were at the National Association of REALTORS REALTOR Party Convention & Expo to represent YOU and your clients.
