In response to August wildfire evacuations in San Mateo County's coastal communities, the Tuesday marketing meeting group of Half Moon Bay REALTORS quickly mobilized to raise funds for Puente de la Costa Sur to provide relief—raising $13,000 in just over a week and half. The California Department of Real Estate (DRE) recently completed of a new publication for licensees titled, "Real Estate Advertising Guidelines", RE 27. These guidelines are intended to assist California real estate licensees in understanding the many advertising requirements they are expected to know and follow.

On Thursday, March 5 at SAMCAR's 2020 Annual Meeting, 2020 SAMCAR President Elmer G. Martinez presented the recipients of the C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life and NAR REALTOR Emeritus status with certificates acknowledging their achievement of these prestigious membership distinctions.

As part of SAMCAR's ongoing commitment to supporting our communities, SAMCAR REALTORS have recently made contributions to the following organizations in Pacifica: Pacifica Resource Center, Pacificans Care for the Rockaway Ricky Memorial Fund, Terra Nova High School Education Foundation, Terra Nova Industrial Tech. SAMCAR values our communities and is proud to support the efforts of our members in cities and neighborhoods throughout San Mateo County.

At the recent California Association of REALTORS (C.A.R.) Spring 2019 meetings in Sacramento, SAMCAR was presented with an award for Outstanding Member Mobilization based on the number and percentage of SAMCAR members who responded to the National Association of REALTORS "Call for Action" in 2018 asking Congress to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).Thanks to all the SAMCAR members who took the time to respond to NAR's Call for Action urging Congress to extend the NFIP. When you take part in association efforts like that call for action, you are helping demonstrate the collective voice of organized real estate in service of protecting homeowners and your profession. Congratulations!
