SAMCAR was recently alerted, again, to complaints regarding REALTORS®' signs placed in violation of Municipal Code. REALTORS® must be diligent about obeying local city ordinances and rules about placement of open house and directional signs by becoming familiar with city sign ordinances. SAMCAR members who routinely ‘farm' their neighborhoods in San Carlos will now be barred from doing so under an ordinance that prohibits the distribution of fliers, handbills, newspapers or other literature that isn't solicited or wanted on residential properties.

Some Peninsula cities continue to aggressively removing Open House signs, placed in the public right of way and give fines for improper placement. Please be aware of city sign ordinances.
