C.A.R.'s Housing Affordability Fund's Homeowners Association Grant Program will provide qualified first-time California homebuyers up to six months of HOA dues, not to exceed $2,500. SAMCAR Supports Quality Affordable Housing, Not Rent Control
Many economists and academic studies have chronicled the harms of rent control including stunted property values, exacerbated shortages of available units and increased deferred maintenance issues. SAMCAR has a long history of supporting quality affordable housing on the Peninsula and we oppose rent control because it is counterproductive to that longstanding objective.
San Bruno Point-of-Sale Takes Effect May 8, 2015
Effective May 8, 2015, the City of San Bruno will begin enforcement of a point-of-sale requirement for sewer lateral inspections.
Sharps Park Golf Course Project Gets Green Light
Earlier this month, the 20-member California Coastal Commission voted unanimously to grant the City and County of San Francisco a coastal development permit for work at Sharps Park Golf Course including pump house infrastructure improvements and dredging a new frog pond south of the course.
New Forms Could Impact Closings
The introduction of the Loan Estimate and the Closing Disclosure forms is right around the corner. The new forms are designed to aid the consumer in comparison shopping, improve consumer understanding and prevent surprises at the closing table, but it's possible that the new forms may initially create delays in closing.
