SAMCAR Foundation Grants $10,000 to Local Charities in Q2 2026
Rebuilding Together Peninsula & Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County
At their May meeting, SAMCAR Foundation Trustees approved second quarter (Q2) grants to two organizations — $5,000 each to Rebuilding Together Peninsula and Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County — for a total amount of $10,000, with funds donated by SAMCAR members.

"I'm so proud of the SAMCAR Foundation, we get to give back to housing related communities in need, through our grants to such worthy organizations," said Foundation Council Chair Alfredo Mendoza. "They help those in need, in such amazing and diverse ways."

Rebuilding Together Peninsula
Rebuilding Together Peninsula provides free home repairs and safety modifications to low-income homeowners through their Safe at Home Program. Their mission is "repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives." For 35 years, Rebuilding Together Peninsula has addressed accessibility and serious repair needs and has helped residents live independently in safe, healthy, affordable homes in their communities. The Safe at Home Program completes projects for approximately 130 vulnerable low-income homeowners annually (approximately 250 residents).

Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County is dedicated to serving the poor, homeless and the marginalized in our community. The grant awarded by the SAMCAR Foundation is in support of SVdP's Peninsula Family Resource Center which helps the precariously housed in our community with food, rent and/or utility assistance and other basic survival needs. Their commitment to ending homelessness is strongly aligned with SAMCAR Foundation's Vision to provide a roof over every head in San Mato County.
