C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life
Applications for C.A.R. Honorary Member for Life are due in September to qualify for the following year. If you are 75 years of age, have been a REALTOR® member of an Association for at least 25 years, and are currently a SAMCAR member, you qualify for C.A.R.'s Honorary Member-for-Life status, waiving your C.A.R. and SAMCAR dues beginning the following year and lasting for the duration of your membership.
Here is how you may be eligible for Honorary Member-for-Life status with SAMCAR and C.A.R.

You are 75 years of age, or will turn 75 in the year your application is submitted.

You have been a REALTOR® member of an Association for 25 continuous years.

You are a current SAMCAR member.
Please note that all applications MUST be processed through SAMCAR and should not be sent directly to C.A.R.
Applications received after the submission deadline cannot be processed for the upcoming dues cycle and you will have to wait until the following year. No exceptions allowed if you miss the deadline.

2025 Honorary Members, Lifetime Achievement Honored at Annual Meeting
On Thursday, March 27 at SAMCAR's 2025 Annual Meeting, SAMCAR President Frank Vella provided an overview of association activities for the year as well as the presentation of multiple special honors. Lifetime Achievement Award winner Bobbi Decker was recognized by Elections Committee Vice Chair, Robert Pedro. Recipients of the C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life were recognized by Association Executive Alane Gilbrech, acknowledging their achievement of this prestigious membership distinction. Honorary member Tom Tornquist led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the program and honorary member Phil Houston delivered a keynote address. Also at the Annual Meeting was the presentation of "2024 by the Numbers" — an infographic annual report — an update about the REALTOR Relief Foundation from Jessica Eva, a legislative update with SAMCAR Government Affairs Director Fernando Peña and introduction to C.A.R. Field Representative Andrew Hughan, and an MLSListings update with Jean Joh and Dave Wetzel.

On Thursday, March 28 at SAMCAR's 2024 Annual Meeting, SAMCAR President Moisés Pelayo provided an overview of association activities for the year, and recipients of the C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life were recognized by Association Executive Alane Gilbrech, acknowledging their achievement of this prestigious membership distinction. Honorary member David Cline led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the program and honorary member Josephine Moore delivered a keynote address. Also at the Annual Meeting was the presentation of "2023 by the Numbers" -- an infographic annual report -- inspirational remarks by Affiliate member Olivia Edwards, a legislative update with SAMCAR Government Affairs Director Fernando Peña, and an MLSListings update with Mark Messimer and Jesse Gutierrez.

Recap: SAMCAR Awards & Special Honors at Annual Meeting
On Friday, March 5, 2021, SAMCAR held its first virtual Annual Meeting on Zoom, with master of ceremonies 2021 President David Zigal. At the meeting, SAMCAR honored Outgoing Directors and Committee Chairs, and recipients of C.A.R.
