Alane Gilbrech | RCE Designation | National Association of Realtors

Alane Gilbrech, Executive Officer of the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® is being honored by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® with the REALTOR® association Certified Executive (RCE) designation, which recognizes exceptional efforts made by the REALTOR® association executives.

Alane Gilbrech is one of over 548 REALTOR® association executives who have achieved this mark of excellence. Local and state association executives who hold the RCE designation represent REALTORS® in 49 states/territories.

"This is truly an honor and I am very proud to be receiving this designation. It is a high point in my career as an association executive," Alane said.

Prior to becoming a candidate for the RCE designation, applicants must document their association management and academic experiences. Once they have completed this first step, eligible candidates must successfully complete an exam, which is based on a comprehensive understanding of association operations and management practices. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of areas critical to REALTOR® association management, including association law, governance and issues related to member services.

On Sunday, March 19, at the National Association of REALTORS® Association Executive Institute (AEI) in Seattle, Alane Gilbrech walked across the stage to be formally acknowledged as a recent recipient of the REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) designation.

Attention Housing Providers: Redwood City Adds Tenant Protections
Voting 4-2 with one council member absent, the Redwood City Council on Monday, October 13, 2025, acted in favor of adding three new provisions to the Anti-Displacement Program. Both SAMCAR and the California Apartment Association (CAA) argued against the ordinance, which now includes up to four months of relocation assistance (dismissing state law's one month requirement), expands the property eligibility assistance from five units to two units or more (going after small mom and pop housing providers), minimum lease terms, and providing tenants with the right to return after a substantial remodel at the federal Fair Market Rate (not at previous rent).
