The MLSListings Board of Directors adopted the California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) model rule changes to implement the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR)-mandated MLS policy changes known as "Clear Cooperation" (i.e., Policy Statement 8) effective May 1, 2020. On Thursday, March 5 at SAMCAR's 2020 Annual Meeting, 2020 SAMCAR President Elmer G. Martinez presented the recipients of the C.A.R. Honorary Member-for-Life and NAR REALTOR® Emeritus status with certificates acknowledging their achievement of these prestigious membership distinctions.

In 2019, the SAMCAR Foundation awarded over $62,000 to numerous housing-related charities in San Mateo County and grants to first time buyers working with the HEART program. The primary funding sources for SAMCAR Foundation grants are voluntary contributions made by SAMCAR members with dues payments and fundraising from annual events.

2020 SAMCAR President Elmer G. Martinez and the Board of Directors were officially sworn in to their term by special guest Installation Officer, Supervisor David J. Canepa, at SAMCAR's 2020 Installation dinner and ceremony on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Pullman Hotel in Redwood City. Also honored were SAMCAR's Past Presidents, Outgoing Directors and Committee Chairs, and award winners for 2019 REALTOR® of the Year, 2019 Affiliate of the Year, and Homeowner Hero Awards.

The California State Assembly passed Assembly Bill fourteen eighty-two and the bill has been signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. SAMCAR and the Coalition for Housing Equality, with the support of the California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.), is providing information to REALTORS® and property owners about the implications of this new state law and how to comply. On Thursday, October 17, SAMCAR members gathered at Devils Canyon Brewing in San Carlos for the final 2019 quarterly Speaker Series for presentations on hot topics including ADUs, first time homebuyer programs, fire insurance, title insurance and cannabis, and rent control followed by conversations with each presenter.

MLS has heard you, and now you have the choice to use Modern Mode — a new, cleaner look for the Pro website with the same exact button layout and functionality as the original ("Classic Mode"), but with a more contemporary design.

MLSListings just introduced a set of email notifications designed to keep listing agents one step ahead by automatically alerting them when something is about to happen to their listing, such as an upcoming expiration date, status change, etc. Email notifications will be implemented automatically; no subscriber action is required to initiate them.

If you're entering property listings twice in both MLSListings and East Bay MLSs thinking this duplication will maximize your coverage, think again. There's a better, faster way. You can save valuable time, eliminate redundant effort, and get your listings automatically in both the Matrix and East Bay's Paragon search tools by using just the MLSListings Listing Management tool instead.

MLSListings recently improved its Multi-Class listings process. In the past, if you wanted to list a property under more than one classification or type, you would need to have the MLSListings support center manually do it for you at a charge of $50. Now, you can create a Multi-Class listing on your own at no cost, and with no support center help required.

MLSListings now offers Matrix 360—the latest version of Matrix that combines MLSListings listing data with Realist property data. With Matrix 360, you can now easily and conveniently run tax searches from a single, familiar system without leaving Matrix. At the recent California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) Spring 2019 meetings in Sacramento, SAMCAR was presented with an award for Outstanding Member Mobilization based on the number and percentage of SAMCAR members who responded to the National Association of REALTORS® "Call for Action" in 2018 asking Congress to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).Thanks to all the SAMCAR members who took the time to respond to NAR's Call for Action urging Congress to extend the NFIP. When you take part in association efforts like that call for action, you are helping demonstrate the collective voice of organized real estate in service of protecting homeowners and your profession. Congratulations!

Recently, a SAMCAR broker shared the story of a REALTOR® being attacked by a prospective "client" at a showing appointment in San Bruno, which was generated by an internet lead and set up through e-mail. We are told that the agent is ok and the authorities are now involved. With the number of potential risks in the course of conducting day-to-day real estate business, REALTOR® Safety is always a top priority of your associations. This data share provides real estate professionals in California's most populated areas - including Silicon Valley, coastal regions, Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Venice, Beverly Hills, Los Feliz, Malibu, Pasadena, California Desert, High Desert, and Southwest Los Angeles - real-time access to property listings, market statistics, and products that benefit brokers, agents, buyers, and sellers.
